Recently, I read on Fashionista that Vogue Italia would feature America's Next Top Model Cycle 15 winner- Krista White- on its cover. FINALLY, it is about time to see a a winner of top model be emmeresed in the high fashion world. I think that Kristas' Vogue cover will break down the barrier for ANTM models to be more exposed in the high fashion world. No, I havent forgotten that an ANTM contestant Toccara Jones was featured in a spread for Vogue. However, Kristas cover is due in great part to the new judge who replaced Paulina Porizkova.
In my opinion, this season of ANTM was spiced up... They introduced new judge Andre Leon Talley, high credited as a fashion editor, at American Vogue. His critique was most often either waited for or they relied heavily on it for determining not only the winner, but his input went as far as saving a contestant from elimination.
As I previously mentioned, I can only imagine how far ALT's appraisal for Krista aided her for the cover. However, her pictures were nothing less than perfect, after winning her first challenge she sweeped the competition.
I also should mention that although ANTM selects a 'top model' each season, it does not solidify their career. In most part, like every other model their in the business of themselves. They must work just as hard as Karlie, Daria, and Sasha in booking shows, campaigns, etc. I have yet to see a top model winner as a muse, which I am hoping to see. Beliving that it would change the whole entire world of ANTM.
ALT's approval and appraisal on the show seem to go a long way, maybe ANTM should think about adding/replacing judges?
I was a fan of Kristas and genuinely hope that she makes it ' to the top'. Kristas ideals and fierceness won me over while watching her this season. She advocated to help young girls with self esteem issues, which I really admired.
